Awareness Programme on “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” (25/02/2022)

The Department of Sociology Dakshin Kamrup College, Mirza in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college organized an awareness programme on a very pertinent topic ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’-its problems and prospects. The meeting was presided over by the principal of the college Dr.Nabajyoti Das . The co-ordinator of IQAC, Dr. Jilmil Bora gave the welcome address and the objective of the programme was briefed by the Head of the Department of Sociology Barsha Das . Principal Dr.Nabajyoti Das sir gave a very clear and concise view on the different aspects of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ that made the target group with the faculties of the college and students,comprehend it easily. Dr. Jilmil Bora IQAC co-ordinator delivered her speech on the structure of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ on the different aspects of spreading awareness and changing mindsets to ensure that communities and families welcome and celebrate daughters,education for all girl children and create a safe environment for all women and support women’s resistance to violence. It is a government social scheme launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi . The street play ‘Pragati’ was performed by the students of the Sociology Department of the College. The total number of members present is 58 (fifty eight ) . The number of male is 32 (thirty two) and number of female is 26 ( twenty six). At the end of the programme vote of thanks was given by Barsha Das ,Assistant Professor of Sociology Department Dakshin Kamrup College, Mirza.
