One day Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Patents (01/07/2022)

A one day workshop on IPR and Patents was organized by IQAC, Dakshin Kamrup College, Mirza on 1st July, 2022. The workshop was attended by 40 Faculties from the host institution and neighbouring colleges and institutes such as Chaaygaon College, JN College Boko and SN Memorial Dumoria MEM. The workshop was inaugurated by the Principal, Dakshin Kamrup College. Dr. Jilmil Bora, Coordinator IQAC, delivered the Welcome address to the gathering.

The workshop was conducted in three sessions. The first session was on Introduction to intellectual Property Rights. The Resource Person for this session was Dipamani Baishya, Project Scientist, Patent Information Centre, Assam Science, Technology and Environment Council, Govt. of Assam. Ms. Baishya exposed the audience to all the different forms of IPR and their significance. Her presentation was well appreciated by the participants.

The second session was on Patents- Protection and Registration. The Resource person for the session was Siddhartha Devnath, Scientist C, Patent Information Centre, Assam Science, Technology and Environment Council, Govt. of Assam. Sri Devnath dwelt on the importance of Patenting innovative creations. He exposed the participants to the protection of their inventions and rights to their creation through the patenting process.

The third session was an interactive session where the participants put up questions and shared their thoughts with the Resource persons. The queries and doubts were satisfactorily cleared by the Resource persons.

The programme ended with the vote of thanks. Certificates of participation were issued to all the participants.
