Guided by the visionary ideals of a group of people who dreamt of serving the society by way of establishing an educational institution way back in 1961,  today,the College, the name of which resembles the vast geographical expanse of South Kamrup is located in the banks of the Brahmaputra in the peri urban location of Mirza, off National Highway 17. 

Dakshin Kamrup College, Mirza, has produced thousands of graduates over the generations the Alumni of which is spread across the many Continents of the world .
 
Today, the College is a much sought after educational institution which offers a unique pattern of modern education. Following the National Education Policy norms the College is affiliated to Gauhati University, Guwahati. It offers the programmes under Arts Science Commerce and BVoc  in the Under Graduate level. The College also offers Masters programme in Zoology and Assamese besides having PGDCA and numerous Skill oriented subjects under FYUGP.

Dakshin Kamrup College has a well stocked Central Library, Science Labs, Computer Labs, and Smart Class Rooms. 

The students take active part in extra curricular activities.

The primary tool on which the College is dependent is the strong and highly qualified pool of Faculties, the students and Office Staff who has stimulated the students intellectually. 

Being in the helm of affairs of Dakshin Kamrup College, Mirza, Assam, I see myself not only as an Administrator, but also as a friend, guide and well wisher of every member who has contributed to the upliftment of the College.
