A seminar on "Economic changes, career options and skilling people with special reference to North Eastern Region" was held on 6th February, 2020 by Department of Commerce and Department of B.Voc in collaboration with IQAC, DK College, Mirza for the benefit of the students of Commerce and B.Voc programmes. The workshop gave a good insight about the future career options to the outgoing students.
The session emphasised on the point that there are various career opportunities that are now being availed by commerce students after their graduation. The resource person Mr Rupankar Gogoi , Regional Director, AIMA (All India Management Association) gave a brief introduction on AIMA which is the oldest Management association (Head office – AIMA House, Link Road 3, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi) approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Government of India, since 1994. He discussed the scenario of job market in the current business environment. He also highlighted the importance of CAT and MAT for MBA. He also said about the Skill India Projects (Government of India). He said that the lack of skills and practical evaluation is the main problem of increasing unemployment as a result of which career options in the field of Entrepreneurship has raised to a great extent in today’s world.
