The Women’s Forum, D.K.College in collaboration with IQAC, D.K College, Mirza celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March, 2022 at Monpur Namghor Prangon. A street play named ‘Upalabdhi’ and an awareness program was organized by both the faculty and students of the college on the theme-“Gender Equality Today For A Sustainable Tomorrow”. The play was scripted by Hirok Jyoti Mali, a 5th Semester student (Assamese Honours) and directed by Jayanta Kumar Baishya, HOD, Department of Chemistry. The program was hosted by Dr. Gargee Chakraborty, President of Women’s Forum.
A speech was delivered by Dr. Nabajyoti Das, Principal D.K College on the importance of gender equality, followed by Shubhas Chandra Sarma, Headmaster Shri Mahendra Choudhury High School, Deepak Goswami, President of Monpur Raigayroh and Dr.Kumud Bhagwati, HOD, Department of Chemistry, D.K.College thanking and encouraging the Women’s forum for organizing such awareness program.
A mass of people gathered for watching the street play. Refreshments were provided to the people after the street play.
Lastly, the program was lively and informative highlighting the role of women in environmental issues and their legal rights for sustainable developments.
