Meeting 1: Executive Meeting 30/06/2014

Proceedings:
        This executive meeting was held under the guidance of Dr. Indira Saikia, President of Women’s Forum. After chairing of the session, objectives of the meeting were declared. The meeting was convened to review the progress of activities of the forum and also to chalk out plans for activities to be carried out in the current academic year. Members of the committee put emphasis on the need for holding awareness programme on women empowerment, mother and children healthcare, social evils etc.
        As part of initiating such programme, the executive committee unanimously adopted a resolution to organise a seminar soon with the financial assistance of U.G.C. At the end, the president delivered a short speech and with vote of thanks, the meeting ended. The meeting was attended by 9 members of the executive committee

Resolutions:
        It was decided to submit a detailed proposal to office of the UGC for grant of financial assistance to organise a seminar on the selected topic, “Entrepreneurship for the Development of Microenterprises”. It was further resolved that the Principal, D.K. College, be requested to use his good office for early approval of the same from the UGC.

Meeting 2: Executive Meeting, 29/09/2014

Proceedings:
        The executive meeting was held under the presidentship of Dr. Indira Saikia, the president of the forum. The objectives of the meeting were narrated. Main purpose of this meeting was to organize a lecture programme on any convenient date of the last week of October 2014. The meeting was attended by 9 members of the Executive Committee.

Resolutions:
It was decided to conduct a lecture programme at the end of the month of October.

Action Taken:
        It was decided that president and secretary would communicate with the prospective resource persons and fix the date of the lecture programme according to their availability.

Meeting 3: General Meeting, 18/10/2014

Proceedings:
        The general meeting was mainly convened to discuss the resolutions taken in the executive meeting and to make necessary preparations. The meeting began at 12.15pm. Discussion was held on the selection of topic for the proposed lecture programme. Decision regarding the selection of resource persons was also held. Among other matters discussed during the meeting Prof. Madhuri Saikia suggested that someone should be given the responsibility for maintaining cleanliness in the ladies toilet attached with the common room. Dr. Namita Sarma expressed her concern regarding the violation of dress code by girl students and suggested that the president of the forum Dr. Indira Saikia should address this matter in the meeting.

Resolutions:
1. The topic for lecture programme was decided as “Let’s Fight Cancer Together” under which reputed doctors were to be invited to address on common health problems faced by women. Thus a medical counselling was planned for the girl students.
2. It was unanimously decided that two resource persons should be invited two address different issues connected with Women’s health.
3. Resource persons to be invited were:

Dr. Jayantimala Chakraborty
4. It was decided to give everyone badges of pink ribbon to symbolize the fight against cancer
5. Topic for Dr. Rupjyoti Goswami was decided as: “Common gynaecological problems with special reference to Cervical Cancer”
Topic for Dr. Jayantimala Chakraborty was decided as: “Brest Cancer and Building a Positive Attitude”
6. Responsibilities among the members of the Women’s Forum were distributed as follows:

Action Taken:
        Planning for the lecture programme scheduled on 28/10/2014 was made. Duties were distributed among respective teachers. Other suggestions were also acted upon.

Meeting 4: Annual General Meeting 08/02/2020

Proceedings:
        The annual general meeting took place under the presidentship of Dr. Indira Saikia. The objectives of the meeting were read out by the secretary Prof. Pranita Kakati. Secretarial report was read soon after and was accepted by the home. The meeting was attended by 21 members of the Women’s Forum.
