Webinar on Some Aspects of Mathematical Modeling

The Department of Mathematics, D. K. College, Mirza and IQAC organized a Webinar on 24th July, 2020 on the topic "Some Aspects of Mathematical Modeling". A large number of students including research scholars in Mathematics and teachers across different disciplines participated in the Webinar. Dr. Debasish Bhattacharjee, an Assistant Professor in Mathematics, Gauhati University was invited as a resource person to the Webinar.

The Webinar formally got underway with the inaugural address by the Principal of the college, Dr. Nabajyoti Das. Mrs. Pranita Kakati, Head of the Department of Mathematics, welcomed the dignitaries and participants and wished for success of the Webinar first ever organized by the Department.

The resource person Dr. Bhattacharjee delivered a highly motivated lecture on Mathematical Modelling. Dr. Bhattacharjee whose deliberation was finely tuned and lucid, covered a vast array of models right from compartmental model to exponential growth population model. As the topic for the Webinar was picked up from the newly introduced CBCS syllabus for Mathematics under Gauhati University, the participants, particularly the students found the lecture highly informative and relevant. It seemed the students were highly benefited from this Webinar.

At the end of the lecture session, Mr. Debendra Sarma, Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematics offered vote of thanks to the resource person and other dignitaries.

Earlier, Mr. Prasanta Kalita, an Assistant Professor of the Department acted as the anchor person during the whole session of the Webinar.
