Library Overview

Dakshin Kamrup College library is one of the best college libraries in Assam providing efficient service to the readers.The library has been aiming to supplement the knowledge of the students which they acquire from their teachers. The Library has two buildings with 1634 sqft and 2471 sqft which include stack room, librarian's room, main server room, and student's reading room, teacher's reading room, digital room etc. There are more than 53004 books covering all subject, including text books , reference books, books on general knowledge and more than a dozen of local and national newspapers, journals and other information sources like thesis, dissertations, bound volume, maps , globes ,floppy, discs, cds etc. The college library also includes some cd's for specially abled students. In addition to this, the college has subscribed to N-LIST where more than 97000 books and above 6000 journals are freely available for both students and faculties. The library provides adequate and appropriate sitting arrangement for the users for effective use of library resources. The Library opens for student and teachers on all working days from 9 A.M to 4 P.M. The college library rules are framed keeping in mind universal library rules and books are classified as Dewy decimal classification 23rd edition. Computerization of the college library has been done with soul 2.0.
