Motivational Lecture Programme- “Positive thinking- A tool for transforming our problems into opportunities during this pandemic”

The department of Philosophy in collaboration with IQAC, D. K. College, Mirza organized a motivational lecture programme on the above topic on 4th August 2020 through on-line mode. Prof. Minoti Borthakur, retired prof. & head of the department of philosophy, Cotton College (Now Cotton University) was invited as a resource person for the programme.

A large number of participants including teachers and students of different colleges attended the programme. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Nabajyoti Das, Principal of our college. In the inaugural speech, he highly acknowledged the social contributions of esteemed Prof. Borthakur. Dr. Aditi Devi Choudhury, Head of the department welcomed the participants and introduced the resource person, Prof. Minoti Borthakur. Prof. Borthakur is a well-known motivational teacher. A cancer patient herself for more than 26 years, she has been constantly working for inspiring the morally depressed cancer patients with a positive line of thought. She offers her service in different states of India as well as abroad.

Prof. Minoti Borthakur has delivered a very lucid, mind blowing lecture on the topic. She explained how she could overcome different difficult situations faced in her life. She also lively narrated her experiences gathered during her social work and motivated all the participants towards positivity especially during the present Covid pandemic situation. After the speech of the resource person, an interactive session was organized, conducted by Mrs. Namita Choudhury, Asst. Prof. Many participants took part in the session and various questions were nicely replied by Prof. Borthakur to their satisfaction.

The entire programme was anchored by Mrs. Jaba Kalita, Asst. Prof. with her melodious voice. She also recited a self-composed beautiful poem on the life of Prof. Borthakur which was highly appreciated by all the participants. The lecture programme ended with vote of thanks offered by Mrs. Jumi Kalita, Asst. Prof. Philosophy department.
