Sections of the Library


SECTIONS OF THE LIBRARY

  • Circulation Section: The circulation section is the most important key to the library. Here each cardholders can borrow two books for 15 days whereas the students/cardholders having specialization or major in any subject can borrow 4 books at a time.
  • Main Stack Room Section: In this section all the processed textbooks are placed in 72 shelves. Here all the processed books are arranged according to the class numbers.
  • Technical Section The library is using SOUL 2.0 for library management. All the books and reading materials are classified using DDC 23rd Edition and for cataloguing the library is using AACR-II .The library is also using bar code technology in the circulation system. OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) is available for all the library users.
  • Reference Section: Reference collection are kept separately from textbooks. This section have 2323 numbers of reference books in 22 almirahs. Journals and Magazines are also organized in a separate corner of the room.
  • UN Library Section: The library also has a small collection of United Nation study materials. This section is attached with the reference section.
  • Deposit Section: The books that are damaged, old edition, out dated syllabus are kept in this section. Here books are systematically removed based on selected criteria.
  • Reading Room: In both the buildings the college library has two separate reading rooms . In the first building there is a reading hall with 96 seat capacity for all the students. In the second building a reading room with 42 seat capacity for all the major students is available.
  • Digital Library: A digital software with 15 computers is open for all the library users on all working days.
  • Bound Volume Section: There are total 1107 numbers of old issues of newspapers and magazines kept bounded year-wise in this section.
  • Teachers Reading Room: There is a separate reading room for teachers with 14 seats located in the second building.
