Education Forum

The forum was established in the year 2002 and it has been continuing till date. The main objective of the forum is to establish an academic organ in the Education Department of the college. As a whole it aims to provide proper guidance and counselling to students for their all-round development. Aims and Objectives:

  • To establish an academic organ in the Education Department of D. K. College, Mirza.
  • To organise educational lectures, Seminars, Symposiums, panel discussions, group discussions, exhibitions etc. in the department and college level.
  • To organise Educational Seminars, conferences and workshops in the state, Zonal and national levels with other collaborators.
  • To organise Educational Excursions for the students and faculty members of the education department.
  • To observe important days like international literacy day, international women's day, teacher's day, national youth day etc.
  • To generate awareness among the students of education department to undertake field work, team work, project work survey work etc.
  • To create alertness among the students about the various educational problems and their possible solutions.
  • To create a democratic and healthy atmosphere in the forum as well as in the Department for positive personality development of the students.
  • To give encouragement to the students for higher studies and research of education and to make themselves familiar with the emerging areas of education.
  • To develop an interdisciplinary approach to the subject among the students.
  • To establish Permanent bond relationship between students (Past & Present) and teachers (Past & Present) as a process of development of the department.
  • To develop good habits among the students as well as teachers of the Department like reading books and journals of education and psychology, attending seminars, lectures etc.
  • To encourage the students to write articles on newspapers, college magazine, college wall magazine on educational topics.
  • To publish bulletin, wall magazine, hand written magazine, journal on behalf of the forum and to publish papers by the faculty members and the students in the reputed educational journals and newspapers.
  • To provide guidance and counselling to the students of the Department.


Membership:

  • All the faculty members and major/honours students of the Department of Education are the members of the Forum.
  • Initially membership fees were not collected, but from the year 2004, Rs. 30 per year from the students and Rs. 100 per year from the faculty members and Rs.50 from the contractual faculty members are collected. From the year 2020-21, Rs.100 is collected from the students for the entire 3 years and Rs. 300 per year for the faculty members and Rs. 100 per year from the contractual faculty members are collected.

Annual Meeting:

Every year an annual meeting is held to discuss about the various activities to be organised by the forum and also to form the executive committee members. Of course, on the basis of necessity emergency meeting is organised. Activities:

    • On 8th September,2003, on the occasion of World Literacy Day, a quiz competition among the Education major students was held.

    • In the year 2004 wall magazine "Gyanam" was published for the first time.

    • Teachers' Day was celebrated.
    • World Literacy Day was observed.

    • On 31st January, 2008 an ovation programme was organised to felicitate the students for their achievement in curricular and co-curricular activities.

    • On 5th February, 2013, an Ovation Programme was organised to felicitate the students for their outstanding achievements in scholastic and co-scholastic activities.
